Istanbul Bilgi University
Istanbul Bilgi University is a university in Istanbul, Turkey. Istanbul Bilgi University is privately owned by US-based Laureate Education, which is a for-profit college corporation. The Bilgi Education and Culture Foundation were founded on October 31, 1994, in Istanbul. Coming to the name of this university, in Turkish, Bilgi means “knowledge” or “information”.
On the other hand, the university is situated on a green field of 118 acres on the shores of Haliç. Well, the university is reachable from every part of the cit. it is an arts and cultural complex within educational environment and encompasses Turkey’s first power plant, which is an Energy Museum today.
Also, the Santral-Istanbul-Annex Building offers more than 5,000 m2 spaces to around 3,000 students that can be reached in four minutes from Santral-Istanbul Campus. The university also welcomes the international students.
Istanbul Bilgi University took its place within the Turkish system of higher education as a civil corporation after the application made by the Bilgi Education and Culture Foundation on 7 June 1996. The university has motto” Non scholae, sed vitae discimus’ (learning not for school but for life). The university offers different Undergraduate, Graduate, and Postgraduate degrees programs.
