St. Mary’s University School of Law is one of the graduate professional law schools in USA, located in Santa Maria, San Antonio, Texas. The Law school is established in 1927, and St. Mary’s University School of Law offers complete studies for legal education. The Law School offer Master of Laws (LL.M) in various subjects with practical experience and for better understanding of US and International Law as well.

Besides the LL.M degree, the St. Mary’s University School of Law also has Master of Jurisprudence (M.Jur) degree. Alongside that the law school also offers Juris Doctor (J.D.) combines and separate. The J.D combine degree is providing law curriculum with different elective subjects from MBA, IR, M.P.A. and in Arts and Theology.

Students will study law courses for the first year and then their selected program for the second and third year. While for LL.M degrees there are also different subject and the program completes from one year to 2 years as well.

Joint Degree Programs

It is a 4 years degree program, with first year of academic work for a law student pursuing a joint degree consists entirely of law courses. During the second and third year, law and master’s degree courses are taken. Depending on the specific requirements of the master’s degree program, a student ordinarily can earn both a law degree and a master’s degree in three or four years.

DOCTOR OF JURISPRUDENCE/GREEHEY MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (J.D./MBA)

Well this joint degree offers a Federal, state and corporate taxation, estate planning, banking and finance. Besides that the degree is designed to teach accounting and corporate management. Students, who wish to serve as counsel to corporations, or specialize in business and commercial law, would benefit from an advanced degree in business.

DOCTOR OF JURISPRUDENCE/MASTER OF ARTS IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS (J.D./M.A.)

This degree is specifically meant to teach the subjects like International Relations, issues in International and Public Affairs, Politics in Developing Areas, Politics of World Economic Problems. Other than these subject it gives the in depth knowledge about Comparative Political Systems, United States Foreign Policy, Studies in Latin Inter-American Affairs, and 20th Century Political consideration.

DOCTOR OF JURISPRUDENCE/MASTER OF ARTS IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION (J.D./M.P.A.)

This joint degree offers the study related to disagreement concerning the utilization of natural resources, land use (labor relations, the administration of justice, and civil rights all illustrate the importance of law in the public sector.

DOCTOR OF JURISPRUDENCE/MASTER OF ARTS IN THEOLOGY (J.D./M.A.)

The program is especially suited for students who wish to pursue a legal career as a form of ministry. The law schools offers courses related to master’s of Theology program are Foundational Moral Theology Ethics, Ecology and Christian Ethics, Dynamics of Spiritual Life. Other subjects include Marriage and the Family, Theology of Human Sexuality, and Principles of Theological Method.

LL.M in American Legal Studies

This program is meant for non-resident US or international lawyers. This degree provides the complete knowledge about the U.S. legal education requirement for the LL.M. graduate to sit for the Texas, California or New York Bar exams. Some jurisdictions require additional components, such as pro bono service, and each candidate is responsible for determining those requirements as set by each state.

LL.M in International and Comparative Law

It is basically a dual postgraduate degree, offers the knowledge about the International and Comparative Law. The comparison between the two fields of law, enable the students to underhand better.  The LL.M. degree in International and Comparative Law will improve your marketability to firms engaging in international policy making or who represent clients with international interest.

LL.M. in International Criminal Law

This LL.M. degree is also for those lawyers who choose to practice in the areas of federal law enforcement, military law or who liaise with the 17 agencies that make up the intelligence community. International Criminal Law LL.M. Candidates are required to successfully complete 21 out of 24 credit hours from the specific criminal law courses.

Master of Jurisprudence
