The University Of Texas School Of Law is located in Austin and one of professional graduate school in USA. Well last year it was ranked 15 by U.S news and World reports and 12 by above the law ranking. The University of Texas School of law offers degree in Juris Doctor Program for three years. For the first years students will learn about the foundation courses in US legal system, Constitutional law and civil procedures.

The first year is spent on the study of foundation topics in our legal system, such as constitutional law and civil procedure. While the second and third years courses are elective and students can selects the subjects according to their field of interest.

While Masters of Laws is single program with six different subjects and students can choose from Global Energy, international arbitration and environmental law, human rights and comparative constitutional law, cyber security law, American and international law, business and law and U.S law for foreign lawyers.

Beside all these degree programs the University of Texas School of law also offers dual degree program in different subjects as well. The university also have PhD program as well. With $70 application fee, the full time tuition fee is $35,715 in USA and $53,035 abroad.

The Juris Doctor Program

The three-year academic program at Texas Law is intense and transformative. The first year is spent on the study of foundation topics in our legal system, such as constitutional law and civil procedure that are essential for every lawyer to master. The first year include basic concepts and study about law and its different fields.

In the second and third years, students offer to have freedom to choose the elective.  They are given the opportunity to design a course of study that fits their interest. In part this means choosing courses on the subjects, and studying with the professors, that interest you the most

Dual Degrees

University of Texas Combined Degree Programs

The Law School offers dual degree programs with several different graduate schools’ programs at The University of Texas. These programs offer the simultaneous award of two graduate degrees in four years or less, rather than the five years. It would normally require to complete two graduate degrees. These include:

  • JD/Master of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies
  • JD/Master of Arts in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies

Master of Laws (LL.M.) Program

The LL.M. Program is easy and allows each student to design an individual course of study according to their aspirations.  Students complete most courses at the Law School and can also complement their legal coursework by taking courses in departments and schools across campus.

The Law School offers a single LL.M. degree with 6 different concentrations. The six concentrations allow students the chance to complete specified courses and obtain a certificate of specialization in:

Combined Degree Programs with PhD

The Law School, in combination with the Graduate School, offers several programs leading to the JD and the PhD. There is a combined degree program for Law and Philosophy, and a program for Law and Government. These programs are designed to organize students for academic careers in law and/or in the similar disciplines.

  • The Law and Philosophy Program

The Law and Philosophy Program (LPP) is a joint effort of the School of Law and Department of Philosophy at The University of Texas at Austin. The university established LPP in 1998-99 as a combined J.D. and Ph.D. degree program. The program is designed to be completed in seven years. Students in LPP may count two law courses towards the Ph.D. requirements and four philosophy courses towards the J.D. requirements. And after that students will have two degrees as well.
